The Jindřich Jelínek Trophy is the highest honorary recognition awarded annually by the club to one of its members. Established in 2021, this prestigious trophy has become a symbol of excellence, recognizing the finest human and sporting qualities within our community.
Unlike standard leaderboards or points-based competitions, this award does not merely measure speed or power. Instead, it honors a member's contribution to the community, their loyalty, and their tireless dedication to the club's development. The trophy is named after Jindřich Jelínek, a figure whose name is synonymous with selflessness and a lifelong devotion to life on two wheels.
Criteria for Selection
The trophy is presented to the cyclist who has most significantly embodied the following values over the past season:
Club Spirit: A willingness to support fellow members, organizing group rides, or taking an active role in club operations.
Exemplary Representation: Promoting the club's good name both during races and in everyday life, maintaining a fair-play attitude and high sporting ethics.
Mentorship: Supporting newcomers and motivating others to perform their best, even during challenging times.
Persistence: Showing grit and dedication that serves as an inspiration to the entire community.
Design of the Trophy
The trophy is a striking piece of sporting art that captures the essence of the road. It features a set of iconic cycling handlebars finished with vibrant fluoro bar tape, symbolizing the energy, visibility, and boldness of our sport. This centerpiece is mounted on a base where the names of all recipients since 2021 are chronologically engraved. Every new winner thus becomes a permanent part of the club’s living history.
